Author Andrea Ross will introduce you through words and stories to Edith Rockefeller McCormick – the renegade daughter of the oil tycoon. Learn about her triumphs and scandals as well as her role in the development of Niles through the efforts of her real estate firm, Krenn & Dato. When she married into the McCormick family of reaper fame, she was estimated to be the richest woman in the nation. The founder of Brookfield Zoo, patroness of Chicago grand opera, and supporter of James Joyce and Carl Jung, Edith lived large, exhausting her fortune by the time of her death.

Lunch includes salad, rigatoni in vodka sauce, bread and dessert.
