SIU President Emeritus Glenn Poshard and his coauthor Carl Walworth will speak about their recently published book, Son of Southern Illinois: Glenn Poshard’s Life in Politics and Education, at a book talk and reception on March 6th hosted by SIU Press and Morris Library.
The event will open with the authors discussing their book and taking audience questions at 5:00 p.m. on March 6th in Morris Library’s Guyon Auditorium. The catered reception, which will also feature a book sale and signing, will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the library’s first-floor rotunda.
Poshard is a former educator, coach, state senator, congressman, 1998 Democratic nominee for Illinois governor, Vice Chancellor for Administration at SIUC, president of the SIU Board of Trustees, and SIU system president. He has played a role in key components of Southern Illinois life for more than five decades. Walworth is an experienced reporter, editor, publisher, and now library director.
